Elephants in battle

A war elephant was a military elephant that had been trained and guided by humans. The main purpose of the war elephant was to assault the enemy, break their ranks, and terrorise and terrify them. Elephantry refers to military formations that use elephants to transport troops. [1] In antiquity, war elephants played a crucial role in a number of significant wars, particularly in Ancient India. While they were only used on a limited and irregular basis in ancient China, they were a permanent staple in the armies of historical Southeast Asian kingdoms. They were also used in ancient Persia and the Mediterranean globe by Macedonian troops, Hellenistic Greek nations, the Roman Republic and later Empire, and Carthage in North Africa during classical antiquity. Throughout the Middle Ages, they had a strong presence on the battlefield in several areas. Terrorists kill a civilian in Srinagar, while a cop is killed in an attack in Anantnag.

Terrorists opened fire on a hospital in Anantnag's Bijbehara district, gravely injuring an assistant sub-inspector. He died in the hospital as a result of his injuries.



On Wednesday, terrorists killed a civilian in Srinagar's old city region in Jammu and Kashmir. In a separate incident, a police officer was gravely injured and killed by terrorists who opened fire indiscriminately at a hospital in the Anantnag district's Bijbehara sector. He died in the hospital as a result of his injuries.


Rouf Ahmad of Nawakadal was recognised as the deceased civilian, while Mohammad Ashraf of Bijbehara was identified as the assistant sub-inspector who was shot in the sub-district hospital.


Ashraf had been transferred to a Srinagar-based hospital for treatment, according to the Kashmir Zone Police, and the location had been cordoned off.


"Terrorists fired indiscriminately and badly injured a police personnel, ASI Mohd Ashraf of PS Bijbehara, #Anantnag," police stated on Twitter.


 Ahmad was brought to Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the report. An investigation was being carried out.
