A war elephant was a military elephant that had been trained and guided by humans. The main purpose of the war elephant was to assault the enemy, break their ranks, and terrorise and terrify them. While they were only used on a limited and irregular basis in ancient China, they were a permanent staple in the armies of historical Southeast Asian kingdoms. They were also used in ancient Persia and the Mediterranean globe by Macedonian troops, Hellenistic Greek nations, the Roman Republic and later Empire, and Carthage in North Africa during classical antiquity. Throughout the Middle Ages, they had a strong presence on the battlefield in several areas. According to WHO, Omicron is likely to surpass the Delta variation in areas where community transmission occurs.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the Omicron form of coronavirus is more transmissible than the Delta version and lowers vaccination efficacy.

After reviewing the early evidence on Omicron, the global health organisation came at this conclusion. According to AFP, the WHO stated that the new COVID-19 strain caused fewer severe symptoms.

The Omicron form produces "a decline in vaccination efficacy against infection and transmission," according to early studies.
